Linwood Franklin Wilkins Jr, age 77, passed away on August 1, 2026, in Berlin, Maryland. Born on October 24, 1948 in Salisbury, Maryland, he was the son of the late Linwood F. Wilkins Sr. and Eunice (Massey) Wilkins.


Linwood proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a successful career as the owner of his own construction company, where he was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and dedication to his work.


Linwood also enjoyed racing horses, a passion that brought him many memorable experiences and lifelong friendships. He was also a devoted member and leader of the Powellville Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he remained committed to supporting fellow veterans and giving back to his community.


Above all, Linwood will be remembered for the love he shared with his family as a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his parents, Linwood was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Haley Wilkins.


He is survived by his longtime companion, Janie Hooper; her children, Craig Dennis and Kelly Windsor (JD); her grandchildren, Paige, Piper, and Parker; his son Jason Wilkins (Tricia); his grandchildren, Hunter Wilkins and Hannah Wilkins; his brother, Elwood Wilkins (Courtney Parsons); his niece, Kristi Averil (Tony); and his great-nephew, Derek Averil.


A funeral service will be held at The Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, Maryland on Friday August 7, 2026 at 2:00pm. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a procession will travel to Bethel Cemetery in Willards, Maryland, where Linwood will be laid to rest.


The family encourages everyone wanting to attend the services to dress casually.
