Buddy Poppies

The red poppy has connected generations of veterans, service members and their families with civilians in remembering all those who have fallen. And for more than 75 years, the VFW's "Buddy"® Poppy program has honored those who have sacrificed by raising millions of dollars to support veterans' well-being.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.

Veteran Outreach

Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations, now is the time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.

Join the Auxiliary

Membership in the VFW Auxiliary is an excellent way to show your support of America’s veterans. If you are a member, we encourage you to participate and to ask someone else to join. If you are not a member, we invite you to join us as we work to improve the lives of America’s veterans, service members and their families and communities across this great nation.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

IN-COUNTRY

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.


There is a new cartoon everyday.

Calling all members, come to the post 2996 meetings and meet your new officers. See how we want to move forward and get this post back to where it once was.
 
Special thanks to the Post 2996 Auxiliary without whom we would not have a post today Through their hard work and perseverance we were able to retain our charter.
